Robert Shawn Burchett, born January 29, 1974, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the age of 52.

Robbie had a lifelong passion for drag racing and those who knew him will remember the excitement he felt at the track and the joy that it brought him. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Goforth Bowers and his Stepdad Cleveland Bowers that raised him.

He is survived by his sister, Erica Bowers Cogburn and her three kids and grandkids as well as several extended  family members who cared for him deeply.

Robbie's life was not without challenges, and he walked a difficult road at times. Even so, he remained a person with a story, a family, and moments of joy that mattered. 

A private service will be held in Ellerbe Friday, February 21at 1pm if friends would like to attend, reach out to Erica.
