Pauline Wall Obituary

Mother Pauline P. Wall, 76 was the youngest child born to the late Nollie Ernest Patterson and Katie Walker Patterson on August 26, 1944 in Rockingham, North Carolina. She departed this life on April 7, 2021 at Richmond County Hospice in Rockingham, NC.

Pauline graduated and received her high school diploma from Leak Street High School in 1962. She worked at Klopman Mills, Clark Equipment, and she retired from Burlington Industries.

After high school, Pauline married the love of her life, Mr. Leon Wall, Sr. of Rockingham. They celebrate 57 years of marriage.

Mother Pauline P. Wall gave her life to the Lord at an early age. Growing up in the Philadelphia Community “Lil Philly”, she joined Philadelphia United Methodist Church. She later became a member at Jones Temple Revival Center, Pinehurst, NC where the late Rev. Arvetra Jones, Sr. was the pastor. At Jones Temple Revival Center, she served as an usher, communion steward, kitchen aide committee member and a 

Sunday School teacher. She then became a member of Collins Revival Center, Rockingham, NC, where the late Pastor Laura Collins was the pastor. At Collins Revival Center she served as a nurse aide and on the pastor aide committee. Because of her faithfulness, commitment and wisdom she became a Church Mother. During her final years, she was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, Rockingham, NC where Rev. Daniel Scott is the pastor. At Ebenezer she served as the pastor aide committee president and vice-president and she served with the women’s ministry. She was a faithful servant of the Lord.

In the community, Mother Pauline Wall was the NAACP Mother of the Year for the Philadelphia United Methodist Church, a member of the Philadelphia United Methodist Women, a member of the Leak Street Alumni Association, planning coordinator of the Rockingham Committee for the Covington Family Reunion, and a 1984 Founding Member of the Willing Hands.

Mother Wall was also a wedding and program coordinator, caretaker, avid fundraiser, and she loved shopping at the flea market and the “5-mile yard sale”. She also loved making crafts and decorations for churches and committee events. Her specialty was creating baby dolls.

Mother Wall was predeceased by her sisters, Thelma Nicholson and Ruby Nichols.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her daughter, Dr. Saundra Wall Williams of Raleigh, NC; her son, Mr. Leon Wall, Jr. of Zebulon, NC; one brother, Mr. Robert Patterson of Newport News, VA; one sister, Mrs. Lula Murray of New Haven, CT; one stepson, Mr. Robert Leon Martin, one son-in-law, Mr. Dennis O. Williams; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Nichole Wall; three granddaughters, Lexus Thomas, Keionna Knight, Ryleigh “Kyia” Peterkin; three grandsons, Bradley Williams, Drew Wall, Jorden Wall; three sister-in-laws, Pastor Lydia Jones, Nonglok Patterson, Elizabeth Wall; one godson, Deon Baker; special daughter and son, Roosevelt and Candace Goodwin; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.
