Obituary
Mr. Percell McDonald, 69, was born on September 23, 1951 to the late Percell Robinson and Corene McDonald in Richmond county, North Carolina. He transitioned t his Heavenly Home on November 21, 2020 at Moore Regional Hospital.
He attended leak Street School and worked several places, but was well known for working at White's Poultry, Commercial Products for over twenty years as a cement truck driver and at Nelson Funeral Home (his ABSOLUTE favorite place to be). Who didn't know "Mr. Percell", "Pert", "Ol' Perculator". His kind and loving spirit, contagious smile, funny sense of humor, tell it like it is personality was felt not only in Richmond County but in surrounding counties and states alike.
On February 12, 1982, Percell McDonald married the late Edna Wall Diggs McDonald. Pert's favorite past-time consisted of enjoying his family and friends, sipping "His Good Drank", sitting on his porch listening to his "Blues Music", Dancing (the Chicken Scratch as Mama called it lol), talking junk and enjoying life to the fullest. He loved the Lord, they had an understanding and his motto was "Keep Your Hands in God's Hands."
Percell was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Edna and his grandbaby, Jarius Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Lynette Williams, Penny McDonald, Melvin McDonald (Tip), LaToya Diggs-Jackson (Kirk), Jessica McDonald (Champ) and Ian McDonald (Jazz), all of Rockingham, North Carolina; siblings, Lorenzo, Shirley Ann Moore (Lawrence), Rosa Marie McDonald, Delores Jackson (Gary), Calvin McDonald, Roscoe McDonald (Viola), and Charlotte Staton (Hubert); grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a multitude of nieces, nephews and other relatives; the entire staff of Nelson Funeral Home; the staff at Dorsett Printing Company; and a host of other friends.
