Mr. Douglas Howard Spencer Obituary

Douglas Spencer, 95 of Rockingham North Carolina transitioned peacefully on Monday July 5, 2021. 


He was born in Rockingham and attended Richmond County Schools.  He served in the US Navy during WWII.  He relocated to New Jersey where he met and married Mildred McNeely, who proceeded him in death.  He and his wife retired in NJ and returned to Rockingham.


He served as deacon at Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a founding member of the Piney Grove-Gales Town Community Center in Rockingham where he devoted his time and service.  He leaves to mourn his passing his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.


Viewing/Visitation will be held Tues, July 13, 10:00 am - 11:00 am followed by the service at 11:00am at Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 401 Holly Grove Church Road, Rockingham NC, 28380.
