Obituary

Arthur Edward Cole, Sr. was born on September 6, 1943 in Marlboro County, South Carolina to the late Richard and Carrie Mae Cole. Arthur entered into eternal life on Saturday, september 19, 2020 at his home.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Carrie Mae Cole; his brothers, Richard Jr. and Billy; his wife, Diane Watkins Cole; and two aunts, Inez ( Elder Frank) Lloyd and Edith Thomas. 

He was united in Holy Matrimony to Ms. Diane Watkins for fifty years; to that union, four sons were born.

He was a retired Army Veteran and served our country in the Vietnam War. He also worked with the Railroad for many years and with the Richmond County School System.

Arthur was a member of the Green Pond Church of God in Christ in Gibson, North Carolina where he served as Deacon and head of the usher Board.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his sons, Arthur Cole Jr. (Mellisa Cole), Alexander Christopher Cole (Ann Cole), Timothy Sherman Cole and Eric Devon Cole; five grandchildren, Courtney Cole, Timothy Byrd, Anton Cole, Da'quan Cole and Kennedy Cole; four great-grandchildren; two nephews, Richard Cole, III and Rodney Cole; one niece, Felecia Cole Wall; three aunts, Rosa Mills and Barbara Cole, both of Pinehurst, NC and Connie Ingram of Hamlet, NC; one uncle, Edgar Cole of Pinehurst, NC; and  a host of relatives and friends.
