Mary R. Turner

Mary R. Turner, 71, passed Tuesday, June 23, 2020. A Graveside Service is scheduled for Monday, June 29, 2020 at 11am at Lee Thee AME Zion Church 428 Lee Thee Church Rd. Rockingham, NC  28379 in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines.  A Public Viewing will be held Sunday, June 28, 2020 from 12 until 2pm at Nelson Funeral Home, Rockingham, NC.

Mary Louise Robinson Turner was born November 3, 1948 to the late Wilson Robinson and Carrie Leak Robinson in Rockingham, NC.  She departed this life on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Reid Heart Center in Pinehurst, NC.

Mary attended the public schools of Richmond County.  She attended Leak Street School in Rockingham, NC.  She also attended Richmond Technical Institute in Richmond County, NC where she got her nutrition and menu planning certification.  She retired from Burlington Industries. 

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Turner and her parents.

She leaves to cherish her memories:  a son, Jeffrey Louis Robinson of the home; two grandsons, Christopher Cameron and Ketty Cameron, Hickory, NC; three special cousins, Gladys Nicholson, Delllie M. Ingram (aka Mom) and Elouise Robinson; close friends, Patricia Cummings and Elizabeth Setzer; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
