Lucille Robinson Obituary


Lucille Nicholson Robinson was born April 4, 1933 to the late
George Nicholson and Bessie Hamilton in Richmond County,
North Carolina. She departed this earthly life and entered her
heavenly home on January 24, 2021 at 8:49 a.m. at Hospice Haven,
Rockingham, N.C.
She was the oldest of six children. She became an adult at an early
age with the passing of her mother, when she was just 16 years
old leaving her to help raise all of her siblings.
She received her education at the St. Stephens School. At the age
of 26, she married the late Theodore Robinson. She was a faithful
employee at Commonwealth Hosiery Mill in Ellerbe, N.C. as a
knier where she retired.
She confessed Christ at an early age and joined St. Stephens
Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful member there until
she married Theodore Robinson, at which time she became a
member of Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was a
faithful member who served on the Deaconess Board, a commied
Sunday School teacher, Pastor’s Aide Commiee, Senior Choir and
on the Flower Club. She continued to serve on the Deaconess
Board and Senior Choir until her health began to fail. Our “Mom”
loved serving the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Deacon
Theodore Robinson; daughters, Roberta Rochelle Nicholson,
Melissa Pecolia Harrington and a beloved son-in-law, John Taylor,
Jr.; two sisters; one brother; four brothers-in-law and four sisters-
in-law.
She leaves to cherish her memories, Bettie Jo Grace of Brooklyn,
NY, William (Nancy) Nicholson, Jesup, GA., Herbert Nicholson, Shertz, TX,
Michael Nicholson, Hamlet, NC, Kemberly Darien, Rockingham,
NC, Amial (Charles) Daniels, Mt. Clemens, MI, Theodore Douglas
(Janet) Robinson, Jackson, TN, Annette Taylor, Rockingham, NC ,
Michelle (Robert)Campell, Rock Hill, SC, Arthur Craig (Stephanie)
Robinson, Milwaukee, WI and Santonioa Lee “Tony” (Monica)
Robinson, Rockingham, NC; sister, Bettie Torrence, Kannapolis,
NC; brother Robert Nicholson of Mooresville, NC; sister-in-law,
Janice Luther of Washington, DC; 38 grandchildren; 51 great-
grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.  Special Cousins Annie Hamilton, NY and Ella Ford, Rockingahm, NC.
