Obituary

Mr. Lee Thonia Gibson, Jr. son of the late Lee and Annie Bell Gibson was born on January 24, 1951 in Washington, DC.  He departed this life on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at his home in Hamlet, North Carolina.

He retired from the Army.  He was known to many by the nickname of "Doctor Gib".  He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Lewis Gibson; sisters, Thomasina Gibson and Jacqueline Gibson.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories:  one son, Lee Gibson, III of Philadelphia, PA;  two brothers, Steve Gibson (Peggy) of Decatur, GA, Thomas Gibson of Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Bernita Robinson and Belva Hubbard of Hamlet, NC; one special cousin, Genevia Jackson of Charleston, SC; another special cousin that was like a brother to him, Glen Edward Covington; one best dear friend, Willie Frank Rivers; a host of special nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
