Julius Lovely

Mr. Julius Lovely, 78, Hamlet, NC  passed Friday, July 24, 2020. Funeral will be Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 1pm in the Chapel at Nelson Funeral Home, 1021 E. Washington Street Rockingham, NC  28379.  A Public Viewing will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from 12- 3pm at Nelson Funeral Home.  In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines mask are required and social distancing is encouraged.

On September 13th, 1941 in Bennettsville, SC, Mannie Lovely, Sr.  and Mary Etta Conwell Lovely were blessed with the arrival of their son Julius Lovely.  He accepted God's calling to his eternal resting place on the evening of Friday, July 24th, 2020.

Julius Lovely was preceded in death by his mother Mary Etta Conwell; his father, Mannie Lovely Sr.; one son, Julius Lovely, Jr.; five brothers and two sisters, Mannie Lovely Jr., Michael Lovely, James Kelly Lovely, James Albert Smith, Olivia Lovely-Wallace, Rosa Gibson, and Roosevelt Lovely.

Julius was a native of Bennettsville, SC and attended Marlboro County Public School System.  He later relocated to Philadelphia, PA where he spent most of he preteen years before returning to Hamlet, NC.

Julius married Mattie B. Robinson on March 30th, 1969, and to this union three children were born.  Julius was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and tither of Aaron Temple United Methodist Church located in Bennettsville, SC.  Julius was a man of many trades and skills, but he was most profoundly known by his mechanical skills and ability to fix any automobile. He was a kind and gentle soul and his smile was know to brighten any room.  The highlights of his last days were the joy-filled priceless moments and the time spent with his children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Julius leaves to cherish his most sacred memories, two daughters and one son, Brenda Lovely McRae (Rodney) of the home in Hamlet, NC Deanna Lovely (Wayne) of High Point, NC, Brianna Lovely of Hamlet, NC, Jerrick Wall of Hamlet, NC, and Serenity Lovely-Wall of High Point, NC, six great-grandchildren, Ke'Sean McCollum of High Point, NC Yahonna Wilson of Rockingham, NC, Sean Evens Jr., Aaliya Evens, Deion Evens, Taliyah Evens of Rockingham, NC; one great-great-grandchild De'Avion Evens of Rockingham, NC; three brothers and one sister, Harley Lovely of hamlet, NC, Eugene Lovely (Anita) of Atlanta, GA, Leonard Lovely of Patterson, NJ, and Nettie Copeland of Eagle Springs, NC; mother of three children, Mattie Lovely of High Point, NC; sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Deberry of Hamlet, NC and Carolyn Lovely of High Point, NC; a special Godchild, Andre Ellerbe of Rockingham, NC; a special friend, Helen Brown of Hamlet, NC; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
