Johnny Dwight Morgan of Rockingham, NC passed away peacefully at his home on Friday
January 26, 2024 with his daughters by his side. He battled cancer along with several other
illnesses for many years. He was born on October 23, 1965 in Asheville, NC to Linda Hoglen
Morgan and the late John Harold Morgan. He worked for Vulcan Materials for 37 years. Johnny
was a great friend to many across the state and was always willing to lend a hand. He could fix
and/or build anything you could imagine. He was best known for his big smile, deep laugh,
bear hugs, and a Bud Light in his hand. He loved to host cookouts and seafood boils where he
always guaranteed a good time. He also loved riding his Harley Davidson and went on
countless rides with friends participating in Poker Runs, bike weeks, and vacations. He will be
missed immensely by everyone he ever knew.!
Surviving are his four children, Johnny Lee Morgan (Brooke), Felisha Morgan McCain (Kyle),
Miranda Morgan Watson (Noah), and Levi Dwight Morgan; two brothers Harold Dewayne
Morgan (Juanita) and Daryl Gene Morgan (Erica); five grandchildren, Mia Armanda Morgan,
Riley Lee Morgan, Jace Bradley Morgan, Carter Tripp Morgan, and Brinley Anne McCain; along
with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.!
The family plans to have a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be mailed to PO Box 2151 Rockingham, NC 28380 to assist with final expenses,
and celebration of life. Nelson Funeral Service is serving the family.
