Jermaine Eugene Williams, aka Skillet, went home on August 6, 2020 at the age of 46. He was born on January 1, 1974 in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of the late Joann and Kevin Johnson. As a child, he played basketball (where he was named Skillet) at East Orange High School.
Jermaine and his family relocated to Hamlet, NC. He worked very hard to provide a good life for his family. He worked several years as a truck driver; he also became the founder of D2D Transportation. He was a mentor of young teenage boys at Wells Group Home. Jermaine was a loving, caring individual who loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed customizing his cars/ trucks and riding with his slingshot members. Jermaine loved White Castles and eating beef patties. Some of his favorite quotes he would say to his daughter Ten'aya, "No matter how old you get, you will always be a Toogadie" and to Jayda, "What's up twin?"
Jermaine leaves to mourn his life: daughters, Ten'aya Williams and Jada Williams; sister, Zenora Johnson; nieces, Christal Johnson, Percilla Nelson, Kelmaya Johnson and Taylor Johnson; his mother-in-law and father-in-law; a great-niece and nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other loved relatives and friends.
