George Butler, Jr., 66, Rockingham, NC, passed on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.  A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 2pm until 4pm at the Outreach for Jesus Family Center, 440 Battley Dairy Road, Hamlet, NC  28345.

George Butler, Jr. was born on May 5, 1958, in Richmond County to the late George, Sr. and Lucy Seals Butler. George went on to be with the Lord on what would have been his 48th Wedding Anniversary to the late Patricia Butler.

Jr. was a hardworking man. He worked in the textile industry as a mechanical engineer. He loved his family and friends.  He loved taking trips to the beach with his wife Patricia, finding fishing holes sitting for hours fishing even when the fish were not biting.  Everyone loved George and he will be missed greatly.

Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lucy, his wife Patricia, and his baby sister Linda Ordonez.

He is survived by his children, Mary Clark (Kenny), Billy Butler (Cindy), Russell Butler (Lindsey) and Crystal Thompson (Jackie), Granddaughter Danielle Clark, who he raised like a daughter). Along with fourteen additional grandchildren, which includes one bonus grandchild and four great grandchildren.  He also leaves behind three sisters, one brother and plenty of nieces and nephews.

A note from his baby girl: The only comfort I get from his passing is knowing he is no longer suffering or in pain.  It has been almost seven years since we lost momma and daddy was lost without her and his health continued to go downhill, but he was a strong man, and his will and strength gave us more time with him.  We all love you daddy, and you will always be with us. Now you begin a new journey in life up in heaven with momma and all our lost loved ones over the years and I know you will watch over us and I know momma has the perfect fishing spot waiting with a chair and pole for you.  May you rest in peace and give mamma a big hug from us.
