"To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under the heaven:  A time to be born, and a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck up."

-Ecclesiastes 3:1-2NK

God in His infinite wisdom chose to pluck a flower from the garden of life.  To that end, Theodore Gibson became his heavenly choice on the morning of Friday, November 6, 2020.

Gregory Theodore Gibson was born on December 4, 1955 to the union of Arlethia and Lency Gibson of Richmond County, North Carolina. He began his Christian journey at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Hamlet, NC.  Theodore served as an usher and as a Sunday School secretary.  His Christian journey continued until God called him home.  He attended schools in Richmond County, graduating in 1974.  He was gainfully empolyed by Seaboard Coastline Railroad until his retirement.

God blessed Theodore with his wife, Ora Lee (Candy), the love of his life.  The two of them remained steadfast companions, lovers, and friends until the very end. Their connection was strong and visible to family and friends.

The following family members preceded Theodore in death:  Mother (Arlethia); Father (Lency); Brother (Leon); and three sisters, Annie Robinson, Arlethia Hailey and Judy Sneed.

Left to cherish his memory are:  his wife, Ora Lee Gibson (Candy); his siblings, Mary Morrison, Catherine Bruton, Lillie Williams, Lency Gibson, Jr. (Pearl), Callie Martin (Ronnie), all of Hamlet, NC, James W. Gibson (Kathi) of Fayetteville, NC, James A. Gibson of Las Vegas, NV, and Keith Lamont Gibson (Selena) of Hamlet, NC; three sisters-in-law, Sarah Gibson of Hamlet, NC, Dottie Jeffreys (Curtis) of Pennsylvania, and Mary Gunnings  (Neil) of Rockingham, NC; three brothers-in-law, Ronald and Cleveland Gunnings, both of Richmond County, NC and James Sneed of Fayetteville, NC; one aunt who was dear to his heart, Ola Carmichael of Hamlet, NC; plus a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
