Frank James Jones, Jr., 67, of Rockingham North Carolina, was born to the late Frank
James Jones, Sr. and Cornelia Ann Jones on December 22, 1953 in Philadelphia, PA.
He was the third oldest of their ten children. He transitioned to be with our Lord and
Savior on Monday, April 19, 2021, at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North
Carolina.
Frank was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. Where he began his education in the
Philadelphia, PA Public School System. Around the age of 10, his family relocated to
Washington, DC. Frank continued his education in the Washington DC Public school
system. He graduated from Ballou High School in Washington, DC. Upon graduation
Frank joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a Marine for three
year.
Frank later met and married Lindora Washington Jones in Washington, D.C. To this
union seven children were born. Later he and his family relocated to Rocky Mount,
North Carolina. Frank worked for the City of Rocky Mount until he relocated to
Richmond County, North Carolina. The Jones family was relatives of the late Azie
Morman.
Some of Frank’s hobbies included playing pool, bowling, listening to music, singing,
and most of all going to church. Frank also had a love for animals.
Frank joined Philadelphia United Methodist Church, where he was a member of The
Men’s Choir and The United Methodist Men.
Frank was proceeded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, James Jones, Michael
Jones, Kenneth Jones, and Jerome Jones; 3 sisters, Delinda Jones, Jennifer Jones, and
Wendelin Jones; and 1 son, Julius Jones.
Frank will be greatly missed in his church and the community.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his Wife, Lindora Washington Jones of Rocky
Mount, NC; <ve sons, Antonio Jones, Frank Jones III, Anthony Jones, Ronald Jones,
and Donald Jones all of Washington, DC; One daughter, Deborah Jones of Rocky
Mount, NC; One Sister and brother, Jeanette (Tyrone) Sims of Washington, DC and
Dale (Rhonda) Jones of Nanjemoy, Maryland; 21 grand children; his church family
and a host of other relatives and friends.
