Earl Allen, Jr. 64 years of age, a son of the late Early Dean and Rosa Lee Allen, was born on April 29, 1957 in Bridgeton New Jersey. He departed this life on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Hospice Haven of Rockingham North Carolina.
Earl grew up in his early years in New Jersey and the family later moved to Richmond County in 1972. Earl attended Richmond County Public Schools. Earl was employed with TNS Mills and Richmond Yarns before retiring with Richmond County School System.
Earl joined Philadelphia United Methodist Church as the family relocated to North Carolina. He also fellowshipped with Beautiful Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Earl enjoyed fishing, and hunting in his leisure time. He also enjoyed being a mentor for many of the young children in the community whether it was fixing a flat tire on a bike or having snacks for the kids to enjoy. Everyone enjoyed the big cookouts Earl would have in which he would invite the entire neighborhood. Although Earl was a very quiet and soft-spoken person, his words of wisdom would be loud and clear.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents and sister Teresa Ayers.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his wife of 42 years Mary Allen and four children. Timothy Ratliff, Tawanna Ratliff (Morris) Sophia Allen (Kenyon) and Delton Allen all of Rockingham, NC. Four Grandchildren Aiden, Josiah, Ken’yon, (KJ), and Harlee Williams Jr. (DJ) all of Rockingham, NC. One brother William Allen (Gloria) and two sisters, Betty Ellerbe (Thomas) of Rockingham, NC and Julia Morrison of Morven, NC. One aunt, Marlene Thomas of Rockingham, NC. A very special father-in-law, Eddie Ratliff of Rockingham, NC. Sisters-in law, Cathy Ledbetter, Ramona McBride (James), Michelle Terry (Hoyt), Sarah Robinson, Brinder Jones, Minnie Ratliff, Charlene Ratliff, Cherneise (Ronnie) Wall, and Jennifer Ratliff. Two brothers-in-law, Eddie Ratliff Jr., Micheal Ratliff. A very special niece/daughter Kelli Williams (Harlee). An adopted daughter Angelina Parker. A very special friend/cousin Donald Lee Wall, and a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
