Dimple Delois Jones of Waldorf, Maryland formerly of Hamlet, NC passed Tuesday, April 20, 2021. A Graveside Service will be Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11am at Lincoln Memorial Park, US#1 North, Rockingham, NC. Public Viewing will be Friday, April 30, 2021 12-2pm at Nelson Funeral Home, 1021 E. Washington Street, Rockingham, NC.
Obituary
Dimples Delois Jones was born January 12, 1921, in Hamlet N.C., to the late Luther and Ola Fletcher. Dimples was the oldest of four sisters. She was educated by Hamlet Public School System. She is the last surviving graduate of the High School class of 1938. She went on to major in Home Economics at Bennett College in Greensboro, N.C.
After college, she married the late George Herman Jones. They were blessed with two sons, Kennard (Glendora) and Ronald (Lafretta). She was a devoted wife and a great loving mother who would do anything for her husband and two sons. She worked hard to help the family dry cleaning business before she became a Juvenile Court Counselor. She then retired early to take care of her parents.
She was a devoted member at Saint Peter’s Church where she played the organ and printed (stencil) the church programs for Sunday Service. She was a great cook and a fun-loving person who loved to laugh and enjoy life.
She was one of God's favorite children, she lived to be 100 years old. She was called home to be with the Lord on April 20, 2021. Dimples Jones is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, six grandchildren, Kennard Jones, Shalina Baker, Ronald Phillips, Ranard Jones, Ryan Jones, and Rachelle Jones, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She would say, do not worry family and friends,
